Christmas Exploding Box for Anne

Happy New Year's Eve Crafters!
As you may know by now, I LOVE making exploding boxes. They never fail to get a WOW when the cover is lifted.
I made this box for my friend Anne for Christmas. I used Bazzill cardstock in Berrylicious, Witch Hazel, and Very Vanilla. The poinsettia patterned paper on the cover is from ACMoore.
For the sentiment on the cover, I used my JRS Small Alphabet Set to spell out: Joe & Anne on the top of the circle and Christmas 2008 on the bottom. The poinsettia in the center of the circle is from a four-pack of stickers I got at Michael's. The ribbon is SU Mellow Moss.
The poinsettia in the middle of the inside of the box was made with the SU five petal punch. (If you don't have that punch, it is so worth getting. Besides making beautiful poinsettias, it is also great for tropical flowers and punching corners for layering.)
On the 'pull-out' I used the 'From Our House to Yours' stamp from the retired SU Love Notes set. I colored it in with markers and hand-wrote Merry Christmas Love Lisa & Wolfgang.
Various patterned papers were used for matting. The corners were punched with the SU tag corner, ticket corner, & round corner punches, and with a Paper Shapers decorative corner punch.
I hope you enjoyed seeing Anne's Christmas Exploding Box.
Thanks for stopping by today. I wish everyone a happy, healthy, and crafty New Year!

I'm So Proud

Hi Everyone,

The above pictures are the card that my niece, Samantha, made for my mother for Christmas. She did this all on her own. I'm so proud of her. My brother said it probably would have taken me two days to make it!

Samantha had asked me for crafting supplies for Christmas. I got her a 8x8 album, a stack of 8x8 Disney paper, a punch, four packs of Disney stickers, photo corners, and a stack of photo mats. I wasn't sure she would ever use any of the supplies, but now that I see her card, I think she has the interest and talent.
Perhaps we have a future blogger in the family!
Happy crafting, Lisa

Christmas Placecards

Happy Day After Christmas!
This sure has been a busy two weeks. I made the above sleds as placecards for my Christmas table.
The first picture shows all four sleds. I used metallic cardstock in the following colors: Blue Bell, Pomegranate, Jade, and Violet. The runners are Silver Metallic. The insides and backs of the sleds were covered with different patterned papers. The snowflakes are Metallic Arctic Snow cardstock and were made with a Sizzix die. I stamped the names in coordinating ink with my JRS Small Alphabet set.
The second picture is a close-up of Wolfgang's and my sleds. I used Real Red cardstock to wrap the chocolate bars. The belt is Basic Black and I punched the belt buckles out of Metallic Silver.
The third and fourth pictures show two different angles of my set Christmas table with the sleds.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone,

I have been so busy this week baking and crafting.

I made a frozen chocolate pie and a small sugar-free trifle for Tuesday evening. For last night I made a cheesecake and a regular trifle (pictured above--my pride & joy each year!). Dessert today was leftovers.

I'll be back tomorrow to show you the Christmas place cards I made for today's table.

Name Album for Micki

I made this album as a Christmas gift for my friend Micki.
M -- The Ho and Reindeer stamps are SU, the Santa Hat and Snowflake stamps are Judith.
M/I -- The Poinsettia was made with the SU 5-petal punch. The decorative corners are a
Paper Shapers Corner Adorner.
I/C -- The Poinsettias are the same as above. The corners were done with a SU punch.
C/K -- The Snowflakes were made with a Martha Stewart punch. The Stockings and
Teddy Bears were cut from Sizzix dies.
K/I -- The Large Tree was cut from a Sizzix die and the Small Trees are from a
Martha Stewart punch. I believe the Ornament was a $1.00 stamp from Michael's.
I hope you like Micki's album. I hope Micki likes her album!

Kevin's Christmas Gift -- Gift Card Challenge

Hi Everyone,
I made this simple gift card holder to participate in Susan's (Rainy Day Creations) gift card holder challenge.

The cardstock is cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 3, 5 1/2, & 8. The middle gets taped around the edges and then you just cute an opening for the gift card to slide in. I stamped with a Judith snowflake stick. The snowflake punches on the front of the gift card holder and on the sides of the sled were made from a Martha Stewart punch. It is hard to see in the picture, but the runners on the sled are shiny, silver cardstock. I made the sled from a template I purchased from Sherry at Papershapez.com. There is an Applebee's gift card in the holder and this adorable ensemble will be my brother Kevin's Christmas gift. I will slide the sled, gift card, and Reese's into a clear bag and tie with a ribbon and gift tag. What a cute gift!

I hope you get a chance to participate in the challenge too!

Quick Card Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I made this card from one of the stamped images I received in the blog candy I won recently. I colored the snowman with markers. The small snowflakes around the snowman and the edge of the white card were stamped with a Judith stick. I added a drop of stickles onto the middle of each flake. I then quickly drew some snow lines under the snowman with the Glistening Snow Writer ($1.49 @ Michael's). The stamped image was adhered to the blue, patterned paper which was then adhered to the card. How quick was that?!?!

Jennifer (The Buck Stamps Here) has a quick card challenge and she is offering blog candy. I am entering this card in her challenge. You can visit her blog and enter too:

Christmas Apron Recipe Holder

Hi Everyone,

Back in April I made a pink and green apron (my first posting!) for my friend Anne when she asked me for my popover recipe. Being the good friend that she is, she still has it hanging on her refrigerator. Only problem is that her entire house is decorated for Christmas, including her kitchen. So, being the good friend that I am, I ran home and made her a Christmas apron!

I made the 'Holiday Recipe' circle with my JustRite Stamper small alphabet set. The middle was stamped with a SU 'from the kitchen of' stamp. I embossed both of them in green and wrote 'Lisa' with a red marker.

Now I can't wait to see it hanging on her fridge!

Thanks for stopping by.

Treasure Boxes for Shriner's Hospital

Hello Everyone,
On Saturday I painted for the first time! Well, it was more like paint by numbers--sort of like coloring in stamped images.
Two of my stamping friends (who are artists) belong to an art group that paints 'treasure boxes' every year that they donate to the Shriner's Hospital in Tampa. 60 boxes have to be donated at one time. The children use these boxes to store their personal items during their stay. Anyway, this year they were asking for volunteers to help paint the boxes. So, bright and early (9:00 AM) I show up with the box I bought. Being the nice artists that my friends are, they had already stenciled images onto some boxes. I immediately 'exchanged' my blank box for a stenciled one. I chose my favorite color--purple. So, all I had to do then was paint inside the lines!
The first picture shows me hard at work. There I am in the second picture with my finished box. The third picture is a group shot.
I was quite pleased with my treasure box. I guess I did OK, because Gini and Carol already said they'll be expecting me again next year.
That's it for today--thanks for stopping by.
