Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #17

I am really enjoying Rachel's, Hope Stamps, weekly Cupcake Inspiration Challenges. Probably in part because I love sweets and can't wait each week to see the latest yummy cupcake!
So, how did this week's interpretation come about? Well, I had purchased a box of Merci chocolates to give as a little thank you to a friend. When I saw the yummy chocolate cupcakes (Devil's Food is my favorite!) I was inspired to make this little card and container (it's an empty vitamin bottle) for the chocolates.
I used Bazzill card stock and the patterned paper is called Plum Blossoms by Fresh Print. The card is 3 x 3 and the butterfly is a MS punch. Since the chocolates are called Merci, I thought it would be cute to stamp m e r c i (Studio G $1 stamps and Versafine Vintage Sepia) on the flowers rather than thank you. (If I make this again, I would glue the flowers down rather than use glue dots.) The ribbon is attached with red line tape. I unpacked the chocolates from the box they were packaged in and stood them in the round container. Voila, un grand merci!

p.s. My card for challenge #16 was chosen as one of the top five picks of the week and my card
for challenge #15 was the lucky winner of a nice prize package! Thank you Rachel!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #16

Hi Everyone,
Have you checked out the weekly Cupcake Inspiration Challenges at Hope Stamps yet? If not, what are you waiting for?!?!?
The first picture is this week's inspiration cupcake. The second picture is my take on it. I stamped the three sunflowers on white card stock using black ink, colored them with pencils, and added gold Stickles in the centers. I then very lightly sponged blue ink around the flowers. I used a coral Bazzill card stock for the card base and layered with a bright blue. The sentiment was created in Word.
I really have to either learn how to take better pictures or learn how to edit them better. The colors look so 'off.' The font color I used for the sentiment is practically an exact match to the paper, but in this picture it looks more pinkish.
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you visit again.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge

Did you hear about the Hope Stamps Cupcake Inspiration Challenge? Check it out--there's a lot of great samples to view and a prize package to be won! You just need to get your inspiration from the yummy cupcake and enter by Saturday, 9:00 PM MT.
As soon as I saw the cupcake I thought of the Cosmo Cricket paper I recently purchased.
I started with a beige card stock base and layered the front of the card with one side of the Cosmo Cricket Cherry Pie paper and the inside of the card with the opposite side of the paper. The corners were notched with the SU Tag Corner punch. I stamped the cherries and saying on white card stock and cut them out with the SU 1 3/8 circle punch and layered them using the SU Scallop Circle punch. They are adhered with pop dots.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Renate's Birthday Ensemble

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Well, I think I have finally come down from the 'high' of being a SoShelli Creative Challenge Winner!
Monday was my friend Renate's birthday and I made her a chip board album. The album was from a kit/class I took at the Compendium last summer. During the class I covered all the pages with paper, but afterward I put the album aside. I took it out this year and decided it would be a lovely gift for Renate and worked on the embellishments at the July 4 All-Day Crop. The first picture of the album shows all the 'front' sides of the pages and the second picture shows all the 'back' sides. The double-sided patterned papers in the kit are from Prima Marketing Inc. I used extra paper from the kit to make the gift bag and matching bikini card. Renate is picking out the pictures she wants in the album and I will crop/mat/adhere them for her.
Have a fantastic Wednesday and I hope you stop by again soon.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
And I know I know I know I know I know I want you...(to know why!)

So, could you hear/see me singing/dancing to the Pointer Sisters fabulous song?!?!? What, you may ask, has me so EXCITED today??? Well, I will tell you before I BURST...I am one of the WINNERS of Shelli's Summer Party Creative Challenge!!! Yes, my very own Barbeque/Party/Picnic Carry-All was chosen by Shelli as a winner of her June challenge. I am beyond excited to be honored and recognized for my project. Thank you so much Shelli!

I would also like to thank my SU demo, Raissa, as she told me last year about Shelli's monthly challenges. What a wonderful piece of information! I may never have known otherwise about the challenges and then I wouldn't be having my '15 minutes of fame!'

My Mailman Has Been Busy

Yes, my mailman has been busy delivering packages to me and I have been lax in posting.

The first picture is a RAK I received from Jan Hennings. She had blog candy awhile back and generously offered a RAK to all entrants. How nice was that?!?!? Thank you Jan! (Please note, I didn't post the link to Jan's blog as I have been having trouble lately accessing it. I am sending her an E-mail notifying her of the problem.)

The second picture is the prize package I won during the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot Spa Weekend. What fun that was blog hopping! If you haven't visited the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot yet, do so now--they are previewing the new folders that will debut at CHA. Plus, there are always great tutorials and challenges. Thank you Maggie and the entire Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot team!

The third picture is a clipboard I received from Angie. She posts great video tutorials on her blog and sometimes she inserts a little question/contest into the video. The randomly choosen winner from all the entries gets the project made in that video. How fun is that?!?!? Thank you Angie!

The fourth picture is the prize package I received from Jennifer for winning her CASSB05 sketch challenge. You can see my layout here. Each week Jennifer posts a great CAS sketch and offers a nice prize. Definitely browse her blog to see her lovely card samples and check out the CAS sketch each Sunday. Thank you Jennifer!
And lastly, how about my new blog banner??? Don't you just love it?!?!? I do!!! Patch very kindly designed it for me. You can visit Patch's blog here and Etsy store here. Thank you so much Patch!
Happy crafting!

All-Day Cropping

Happy (Belated) 4th of July!
So, how did you spend Independence Day? I spent it at an all-day crop! I was there from 10:30 until 7:30. We had such a fun (and productive) day. I really did get a lot done despite the talking, eating, and laughing! So, what did I get accomplished? I completely embellished a chipboard album (I had previously covered it with patterned paper) that I will be giving as a birthday gift (and posting at a later date). Next I started on a chipboard album for my niece. I got it half-way done--covered the pages with paper and started on the embellishments.
Now, on to the above pictures! They are some of the goodies from our crop.
I made the basket and strawberries. I originally saw the strawberries posted on Lorri's blog. You can download the pattern there. She made hers with red card stock, which I was going to do too. But, I found this great polka dot paper at ACMoore. It's actually Christmas paper--the name on the back is Hollyberry Blitz. I was able to get 10 strawberries per sheet. The paper I used for the basket and leaves is from Michael's. It's double sided and it's called Zucchini/Spruce. By the way, I got the pattern for the basket from StampTV, under the Freebies tab. The basket is cut at 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 2 all around. The strawberries have Hershey Kisses in them. Everyone needs a little chocolate, right?!?!
How about that 'Yummy?' It was (notice I said was? he he, it went nicely with tea last night!) a chocolate muffin with a chocolate glaze and chocolate curls on top. We were given copies of the template for the scalloped muffin box. If any one would like it, let me know and I'll scan it in and send it to you.
There were two door prizes given out. I won the second one--52 12 x 12 sheets of assorted patterned paper and a pack of brads!
I hope you had a great 4th of July too!
