Sketch Frenzy Friday - SFF0730 (Goof!)

Happy Saturday!

Yesterday Sharon posted this SFF sketch:

As I hopped through the other blogs, I noticed they had a different sketch posted. I thought perhaps Sharon created her own sketch in honor of her birthday. So, last night I got busy and created this:

Now for the goof! Today I discovered that Sharon had accidentally posted a future sketch. Oh well, my card is made and I used a Happy Birthday sentiment for her birthday, so I'm posting it now anyway.
Card deets: Tempting Turquoise card stock & ink, Flowers for You DSP (retired), Flowers in Silhouette & Well Scripted stamps (both retired), and Oval Scallop, Corner Scallop, 1/4 & 5/8 circles, & Flower (retired) punches.

Thanks for visiting. I wish you a very crafty weekend.

Gift Bag for Cynthia

Happy Friday!

My friend Cynthia is expecting a little girl come September so I made this gift bag for her:

I am just 'tickled pink' over it. Why, you ask? Take a look at what went inside it:

Yes, I made the bag to match the outfit! How cute is that?!?!? I also included a little embellishment for when Cynthia scraps the baby's first year:

So, onto the deets of the bag. It is made from two sheets of 12 x 12 paper (an old SU tutorial). For the bib I used the Sizzix Scallop die and the 5th circle of the Coluzzle. I hand-drew the elephant. His ear was made from a circle punch and then I just cut a piece off. The letters were cut with Sizzix Lollipop dies. Luckily I had some polka dot scraps in my stash that were perfect for the ear and letters.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are 'tickled pink' over this too!

October Afternoon Strawberries

Happy Tuesday!

I am so loving the October Afternoon 'Strawberry Jam' paper. I made this basket of strawberries for a friend of mine that I haven't seen since last September. Inside each strawberry is a small Reese's peanut butter cup. I used a template to create the strawberries and leaves. The basket is cut at 6" x 6" and scored at 2" all around. The stamped strawberry image is from the SU Tart & Tangy set. The large scallop is a Sizzlet die and the smaller scallop is a SU punch.

Here is the basket full of strawberries:

And, this is how I presented it to her. The ribbon is from the $1 bin at Michael's and it is a perfect match to the paper/project.

I'm entering this in the Jugs Challenge #43 which is being sponsored this week by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs. If you would like to play along too, you have until Thursday, 7/29 @ 9:00 PM EST to link your template creation.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #68

Happy Thursday!

As soon as I saw the gorgeous cupcakes that Rachel posted this week, I thought of this pink patterned paper I had in my stash and was inspired to make my first tri-shutter card. I followed this tutorial from SCS and was amazed at how easy a tri-shutter card is to make.

The large butterfly, swirls, large oval, and large scalloped oval are Sizzlet dies. The small butterfly is an MS punch and the small scalloped oval is a SU punch. I used Memento Rich Cocoa to stamp the sentiment, which is from the retired SU Best is Yet set. There were a lot of pop dots used for this card!

If you are inspired by these yummy cupcakes, you have until Saturday at 9:00 PM MT to link your card here.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sketch Frenzy Friday - SFF0709

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a little project I made for this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge. My good blogging buddy, Sharon Field (Created by You), created this week's sketch:

Here is my take on it:

Rather than creating a card, I made a box to hold lemon towelettes.

The lemon image is from the SU Tart & Tangy set and the hello (inked part of a stamp) is from the retired Fruity Phrases set. The finished box measures 6 x 5 x 3/4.
In case you are wondering where I got those adorably packaged towelettes...there a new restaurant that opened this year on the boardwalk at Playland and they give them to you with your check. Yes, it is mainly a seafood restaurant. Is it good--well, I've eaten there three times already! So, if you are in the vicinity of Westchester County in NY, I definitely recommend The Pier Restaurant & Tiki Bar.

Sketch Frenzy Friday - SFF0702

Happy Wednesday!

I made a quick little card for the current Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge.

Here is the sketch:

And, here is my take on it:

The card base is textured Pixie Pink and the size of the card is 3" x 6". The polka dot paper and So Saffron scalloping are from a retired Simply Scrapping kit. I used Old Olive to stamp the 'Thanks' sentiment which is from the Thank You Kindly set.
