I4U! Project #4 - Book of Love

Happy Monday!

Today I will be sharing Project #4 from the I4U! Valentine and Birthday Extravaganza. This project was made using the Top Note die, which is my favorite SU die. The class sample was more of a 'book of love,' but I made mine to be more of an album.

Here is the cover:

Back cover:

Supplies used: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, and Very Vanilla card stock, Sending Love Specialty DSP (retired), Pretty in Pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, and Three Little Words stamp set. I also used a few retired stamp sets: Best Yet, Sweet Talk, Tags so Much, Well Scripted, and Yummy.
.
So, did you get to be creative weekend? I spent yesterday in my craft room making another one of these cute little albums. I hope you come back to see the 'tropical' version.
Until next time, happy crafting!

JUGS Challenge #68

Happy Thursday!

This week's JUGS challenge is to create a 3D Valentine treat holder. I used the SU cone template (this is a template, not to be confused with the Petal Cone die).

Here is the top view:

And, the side view:

Supplies used: Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red card stock, Bella Rose DSP (retired), Yummy (retired) and Studio G $1 Alphabet stamp sets, retired SU ribbon (it was no longer on the spool, I think it is Purely Pomegranite).

Happy crafting!

Christmas Tea Set

Happy Tuesday!

Today's project was created for Flourishes' recycle and reuse Christmas challenge. I used two of the templates (Grab a Cup and Tea for You) that I chose with my gift certificate from MTME.

The challenge is to recycle and reuse something from Christmas. I recycled and reused a tray and tissue paper covered styrofoam that was part of a wine/cheese gift set.

The tea cup was very easy to assemble. The tea pot tried my patience a bit! Next time (after a respectable recovery period from this one) I would make the handle shorter. The sugar bowl holds a set of place cards (one is shown up front). I did not make a template for the sugar bowl, just measured the place cards and made it from that. The finished size of it is 3 1/8 x 2 x 2.
Supplies used: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive (stems of poinsettias), Regal Rose (snowflakes), and Very Vanilla card stock, Imaginisce patterned paper, Cranberry Crisp ribbon (retired, coordinates fairly well with Cherry Cobbler), and Flourishes Christmas Tea stamp set. I put a dimensional between each layer of the poinsettias so they would stand high for the lid handles.
Thanks for stopping by.

Game Night

Happy Monday!

Today's post is of a project from December. Yes, I'm a bit late, but the post 'slipped through the cracks' during the holiday season.

This project was for PCP's 3D93 Challenge, which was to use the Cutsey Cover template from MTME.

I printed the template at 100% and made a game night holder:

Inside is a deck of cards and a little notebook.

The images, from GinaK's A Charmed Life by Melanie Muenchinger, were stamped with SU Cherry Cobbler and Versafine Onyx Black, then punched out and attached with pop dots.

My game night project was chosen as Shooting Star and the winner of a gift certificate from MTME! Tomorrow's post will be a project I made with two of the templates I chose with my gift certificate.

btw, Melanie Muenchinger's Arranged with Love stamp set was featured on PBS on Scrapbook Memories. You can read (& see) all about it here.

Happy crafting!

Here is the front of my card:

And, the inside:

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you come back tomorrow--I have a prize-winning project to show you.
Until next time, happy crafting!

Valentine Banners

Happy Wednesday!

Last weekend I made Valentine banners for the inside of my front doors. Here's a full view picture:

The shadows you may see are from the hearts hanging on the outside of the doors.

Here is a close-up of the left banner:

And, a close-up of the right banner:

I used the large scallop Sizzix die to cut the cardboard and card stock. The patterned paper medallions were made with 1 1/2 x 12 strips. The letters were cut with the Sizzix Lollipop dies. My number dies were no where to be found! I think I may have left them at my mother's house. So, I printed the '14' in Word. The ribbon is pink with gold trim. I was already working on this project when my friend, Anne, gave me a bag of ribbon on Saturday. This particular ribbon looked perfect with the colors I was using.

Now, I have a question for you: Are they still called banners when they are vertical rather than horizontal? If not, what are they called?

Thanks for stopping by.

Stylish Blogger Award

Happy Monday!

I feel so honored--Ann has presented me with a Stylish Blogger Award!

In accepting this award I need to share eight interesting (or maybe not so interesting) things about myself:

1. Godiva chocolates and Haagen Dazs ice cream are two of my favorite 'sweet tooth fillers.'

2. I weighed nine pounds when I was born and didn't have a strand of hair until I was one year old. Luckily, since then, I've always weighed in the double digits and my hair is wavy.

3. I usually record my favorite TV shows so I don't waste time with commercials. Gotta love that FF button!

4. I love shoes, but hate that it gets harder and harder to find size 5.

5. I graduated from high school when I was 16.

6. I am a big tea drinker, with Earl Grey and Green being among my favorites.

7. I'm only five feet tall (or short!), but I am taller than my mother and my mother is taller than my grandmother.

8. Though I enjoy scrapping and card making, 3D projects are my favorite.

I would like to pass this Stylish Blogger Award to:

1. Andrea, EnchantInk

2. Beth, Nana's Memories & More

3. Carla, Carla's Scraps

4. Curt, Curt's World

5. Karli, Crafting with Class

6. Rachel, Stamping by Rachel

7. Sharon, Created By You

8. Susan, Susan's Day Off Creations

Thank you Ann!
