ChallengesbyAR - AR092911 - Fall/Halloween

Happy Thursday!

eta: Someone asked what is in the pillow box hanger. They are lemon scented cloth wet wipes that are rolled in a long packaging. I don't know where they can be purchased. I get them at a seafood restaurant.

Digital, digital, let's get digital! Oh, sorry, I got a little carried away.

Welcome to the fifth challenge at ChallengesbyAR. I am the host this week and my theme is Fall/Halloween. The calendar may say that Fall is officially here, but luckily, in my opinion, Fall is not yet in the air!

I am excited to announce that we have a special sponsor for this challenge--MYGRAPHICO!

The challenge team received two MYGRAPHICO files to use for our projects. The first file, Falling for Autumn, contains Fall elements and the second file, Spooktacular, contains Fall and Halloween digital papers and elements. What I like best about digital papers and images is being able to size them.

For my project I used the CreationsbyAR Pillow Box Hanger template along with two graphics from the Falling for Autumn set.

The Pillow Box Hanger was created with Crushed Curry card stock. I printed the Swirl Leaves on White card stock, cut it to size, and sponged the edges with Crushed Curry before adhering it to the Pillow Box Hanger. I printed the Sunflowers in two different sizes, trimmed them, and then adhered them with pop dots. A little Crushed Curry Polka Dot ribbon and some wet wipes completed the project.

So, what are you waiting for?!?!? Click on over to the ChallengesbyAR blog to see all the fabulous creations by the Challenge Team. Once you are done with all the eye candy, I sure hope you use a template and link your Fall or Halloween project. One lucky participant will receive a MYGRAPHICO file of their choice. How awesome is that?!?!?

Happy crafting!

I4U! Fall 2011 Project #2

Happy Tuesday!

The Fall 2011 session of I4U! is in full swing. Today I am sharing my version of Project #2. As soon as I saw the sample project I knew I wanted to go with a Christmas theme.

Last year I made one of those birds (printed template at 50%) for my Fall banner and swore I would never do it again. Oh well, I guess I'll try not to swear in the future :) The template and tutorial can be found here (note: I used sticky tape both times rather than glue for assembling the bird).

Both sides of the birdhouse are the same. The piece of baker's twine around the rhinestone brad is the 'anchor' that holds the roof down (the opposite side of the roof is attached with sticky tape).

Supplies used: Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, & Real Red CS, Merry Moments DSP (retired), Best is Yet, Dasher, & Vintage Labels stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by.

FMS & I4U! Sketch Challenges in Regal Rose

Happy Friday!

Today's card is for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #2 and Inkspirations4U! Sketch Challenge #1. FMS is a new challenge blog that I discovered through Ann, who is a GD hosting this week's challenge.

I usually like to brayer the embossed Tulip Frame layer, but the FMS challenge blog is all about 'keeping it clean!' The more I look at the card, the more I like the all white layer!

Thanks for stopping by.

PPA110 - Spooky Luminary

Happy Saturday!

Well, I'm a bit behind getting all my Halloween cards and gifts made. Yes, I know, that's hard to believe given that Halloween is my favorite time for crafting. Luckily, the fabulous DT for the Pals Paper Arts posted a Halloween challenge this week! So, I got busy this morning and made my first ever luminary.

Supplies used: Bazzill Raven CS, Orange Vellum, K&Co Halloween Black Dots Paper, Medium Window Sheet, Wicked Cool stamp set (stamped with Jet Black Staz-On), MS punch (Bats, accented with White Gel pen), and Spellbinders Classic Ovals.

If you would like to participate in this week's PPA challenge, the link is open until 1:00 PM EST on Tuesday, 9/13.

Happy crafting!

Challenges by AR--AR090811 - Something Sporty

Happy Thursday!

Welcome to the fourth challenge at Challenges by AR. Lori is hosting this week and her theme is Something Sporty. I chose the Ice Skate Digital Stamp to create a favor/treat box for a skating party.

I used SU Shimmery White CS for the skates and box along with Bazzill Raven for the heels and Making Memories Solid Silver for the blades.

Check out those little skates. Yes, I used Shrinky Dinks! What fun that was. I colored the heels with a black Sharpie and rubbed Silver Pigment Ink on the blades, then popped 'em in the toaster oven. Don't they look cute on the ribbon laces?!?!?

Please visit the Challenges by AR blog to see the other Challenge Team Members' projects. I hope you get a chance to use a template and participate in the Something Sporty challenge. At the end of the challenge period, one lucky participate will win a template of their choice from Creations by AR (four new templates were added to the store in the last week).

Happy crafting!

SQSC2 - Sail Away

Happy Sunday!

Today's card is for the second challenge at the Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge blog.

Supplies used: Kraft, Marina Mist, Soft Suede, & Very Vanilla CS, Baker's Twine, and the Sail Away stamp.

I stamped the sail boat image twice, cut out a set of sails, and popped them up on the main image. The banners (stamped with seagulls) were also attached with dimensionals.

Rich Razzleberry Birthday

Happy Thursday!

On Monday my friend Diana and I had a fun afternoon of craft shopping and lunch. During our delicious pizza lunch, she surprised me with this gorgeous gift:

In addition to the birthday card inside the beautiful purse, there was a package of Prima Vintage Trinkets (I hope to make good use of some of them this weekend), a hand sanitizer (I am always using wipes), and a birthday cake in a jar that even included a candle (perhaps I should go make a cup of tea now and enjoy that chocolate yumminess)!

Thank you Diana!
