Halloween Album

Happy Sunday!

Today's project is an album I made for my brother, Kevin, for Halloween. It is made with 6 x 6 pieces of thin wood and covered with SU DSP. I used quite a few punches and Sizzix dies for embellishing. The album can be folded closed as a book and it can also stand open on its own. Click here to see another Halloween version I made last year and here for a Christmas one.

This first picture shows the album folded:

This picture is the green side:

I think Kevin will want to put pictures from our annual family Halloween dinner in the five places on the green side of the album.

The flip side is orange:

I made the orange side for pictures of our annual visit to Blaze at
Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton. Blaze is a display of more than 4,000 carved and lighted pumpkins as well as various Halloween scenes.

Here is a picture of one of the pumpkins:

So, were you in the path of the freak snow storm? Here is a picture I took yesterday at 4:00 PM:

It continued snowing until 2:00 AM today. About eight inches came down at my mother's house. My brother, Richard, lives 30 minutes away and he had about 14 inches. In addition to losing power yesterday afternoon, he lost many beautiful, ornamental trees in his backyard.

Thanks for stopping by.

ChallengesbyAR - AR102011 - Christmas

Happy Thursday!

Welcome to the sixth challenge at Challenges by AR. Maria is hosting this challenge and her theme is Christmas.

I chose the Tissue Pot template.

The Tissue Pot is red glitter paper (note, I used the hot glue gun to assemble the box as sticky tape would not hold on the glitter paper). The beautiful patterned papers are MME Lost & Found Christmas Collection. The chipboard embellishment is from my stash and coordinated perfectly with the papers. As these papers are so sparkly and festive, I felt any additional embellishing would take away from the beauty of the finished Tissue Pot.

For all the details on the Christmas Challenge and to see the other Challenge Team members' projects, please visit the Challenges by AR blog.

I hope you join us this week and link your new Christmas template project. One lucky participant will receive a template of their choice from Creations by AR. You may use any template for your project. If you would like to try a Creations by AR template, there are a couple of freebies available.

OCL86 - Halloween Treat Tool Box

Happy Wednesday!

This week's challenge at Our Craft Lounge Blog is to create a Halloween treat. I made a 'tool box' using the Sizzix #2 box, Pumpkin Pie CS, and OCL Spooky Tags stamp set:

This makes a cute child's treat. A Halloween pencil serves as the handle and a few goodies fit inside the box.

I made two additional 'tool boxes' using the SU Fangtastic (retired) stamp set:

There's still time to play along in this week's OCL challenge. You have until midnight tomorrow to link your Halloween treat. Each month one lucky participant will be chosen to win an OCL stamp set of their choice!

Happy crafting!
