Sympathy in Wisteria Wonder

Happy Saturday and Happy New Year's Eve!

I finally opened up my Wisteria Wonder ink and paper. As I needed to make a sympathy card, I thought it was time to try the new In-Color. It's not Almost Amethyst (my all-time favorite SU color), but I do like it and will definitely be using it more often.

I wish everyone a fun, happy and safe time tonight. See you next year!

OCL98 - Year-End Challenge

Happy Friday!

This week the OCL Design Team has a photo inspiration challenge:

I took my inspiration from both the pretty snowflakes and blue color to create a New Year's card:

I used two OCL stamp sets--Jolly Ornaments & Merry Wishes along with the SU Northern Flurry EF and rhinestones.

Does the pretty photo inspire you to play along this week? You have until Thursday, Jan. 5 @ 11:59 PM to link your photo-inspired card or project here. As a reminder, OCL stamps are not required to participate, but you get extra points for using them. Each month, one random participant will be chosen to win an OCL stamp set of their choice!

One Design / Two Stamp Sets

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have two Christmas cards to share. They are the same design, but made with different stamp sets and paper.

For the first card, which I sent to Raissa, I used the Festive & Fun stamp set along with Cherry Cobbler & Wild Wasabi CS:

For the second card, which I sent to Sharon, I used the Merry Winter stamp set along with Bermuda Bay & Melon Mambo CS:

I am getting a lot of use out of the MS Aspen Snowflake punch around the page set. I had wanted it for quite awhile and picked it up Thanksgiving night at M's for only $8.75.

OCL97 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday & Happy Christmas Eve!

This week the OCL Design Team has a sketch challenge for you:

Yesterday's weather was ideal (81 degrees with a beautiful blue sky and sprinkling of pretty, fluffy clouds) and it inspired this card:

The card base is Cherry Cobbler and the patterned & aqua papers are CTMH. I used two OCL stamp sets--Out For a Spin (bicycle & basket images) and Sea-sons Greetings (tree, candy canes, and present images).

Does this sketch inspire you to play along this week? You have until Thu., Dec. 29 @ 11:59 PM to link your sketch-based card or project here. As a reminder, OCL stamps are not required to participate, but you get extra points for using them. Each month, one random participant will be chosen to win an OCL stamp set of their choice!

OCL96 - Another Handmade Gift

Happy Thursday!

Today I have a gift box and matching card:

Wolfgang bought himself a new desktop computer for Christmas and decided to give our friends his old one. Their computer is an XP system and the one he is giving them is a Windows7. Anyway, he asked me to make a box and card. So, are you wondering what went in the box? The CPU! I thought the 'From Our Family to Yours' sentiment was so appropriate.

I used Sage Shadow CS and Pool Party ink (not a bad match given I don't have Sage Shadow ink). The sentiments are from the OCL Merry Wishes clear stamp set. The computer and mouse are from the GinaK Tech Talk stamp set.

btw, last Christmas Wolfgang bought himself a new laptop. I then got his (Windows7 system which was only six months old) and my mother got mine (Vista system which was nearly four years old).

OCL96 - Nugget Box

Happy Saturday!

This week's OCL Challenge is all about handmade holidays gifts.

I used the largest Spellbinders Lables Twenty-Two die to cut the Cherry Cobbler top and bottom. For the box bottom, the measurements are 3 15/16 x 3 3/4 and scored at 1/2 all around. The box top measurements are 1/16 larger on both sides and scored at 1/2 all around.

I used two different OCL sets today--Happy Holly-days (poinsettia) and Sweet Holiday (sentiment).

Would you like to play along and show us your handmade holiday gifts? You have until Thu., Dec. 22 @ 11:59 PM to link your project. As a reminder, OCL stamps are not required to participate, but you get extra points for using them. Each month, one random participant will be chosen to win an OCL stamp set of their choice!

OCL is currently running a Christmas special. Purchase one Christmas set at regular price and choose a second Christmas set for 50% off! Applies to in-stock merchandise only. Coupon code, 13daychristmas, required at check-out. This special runs through Sun., 12/18 @ midnight.

Welcome to Day 2 of the OCL Valentine Release Blog Hop. Today I am featuring the new crafty cling rubber single - Boo Boo. This set includes one large image, one small image, and two sentiments. I have always liked pandas and was thrilled to see this new set. I was even more thrilled to get to feature it today!

The front swivels on a brad and opens to reveal a fun sentiment and a couple of band-aids tucked into a pocket.

The sets are being revealed on the OCL blog and the DT team has a lot of inspiration to share. Hop through all the blogs today (you have until midnight tonight to comment), and on Saturday four random commentors from all posts will be chosen to win a new release Valentine bundle that will include one clear set and one rubber single!

OCL Valentine Release Blog Hop - Day 1

Happy Thursday!

Welcome to Day 1 of the OCL Valentine Release Blog Hop. There are four full sets in clear and six single sets in rubber being released this week.

Today I am featuring the Mr. Knight? single. This set includes one image and two sentiments. My sample is a matchbook chocolate holder.

After coloring with a blender pen, I went over the entire image with a Sakura glitter pen and popped-up the shield. I split one sentiment in half, utilizing the first part for the cover of the matchbook and the 'punch line' for the inside. Isn't that sentiment fun?

What would a blog hop be without prizes?!?!? Hop through all the blogs today and tomorrow (you have until Fri., 12/16 @ midnight to comment), and on Saturday four random commentors from all posts will be chosen to win a new release Valentine bundle that will include one clear set and one rubber single!

PPA123 - Ornament Easel Card

Happy Sunday!

The easel card base is Cherry Cobbler and I hand traced the outer edge of the largest Spellbinder's 2011 Heirloom Ornament die. The Brushed Gold layers were die cut with that same die. The top layer was embossed with the Petals-a-Plenty folder. Each layer of the poinsettias and leaves was spritzed with Champagne Shimmer Mist. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the SU Four the Holidays stamp set and the Poinsettias & inside sentiment are from the OCL Happy Holly-days stamp set.

Happy crafting!
