Christmas Stocking Banner

Happy Thursday!

Today I have a Christmas Banner to share.  Wolfgang asked me to make a gift for a couple that we know, so this is what I came up with:

I personalized it across the top, added the first names to the stockings on the ends, and spelled-out Noel in the middle.

Here are some close up pics:

Of course a gift needs a box:

In order for the banner to easily be taken out, I made an explosion-type box.

Supplies used:

Stockings - Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, and Red Glimmer CS, CTMH, Colorbok, and MME PP, White Self-Adhesive Felt, EKSuccess Snowflake Punch, Sizzix Lollipop Alphabet and Snowflake Dies, Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornament and 2010 Holiday Tree Dies, SU Stocking Punch and Die, Rhinestones, Stickles, and 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon (I ordered it on-line and it is a great match to Cherry Cobbler!).

Box - Bazzill CS (didn't have enough AA and CC with me), CTMH and Karen Foster PP, Sizzix Star Die, Spellbinders 2010 Holiday Tree and 2011 Heirloom Ornament Dies, and Stickles.

I will be entering this Christmas Banner in the following challenges:

The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop - Week 4

Happy Monday!

Today I have a treat box that I made for this week's Great Pumpkin Blog Hop.  I have made Frankie boxes in the past and was looking for something different when I came across this cute Drac box.

Here is my take on it:

I decided not to put lids on his eyes as I wanted him to have that wide-eyed, just tasted blood, look.

A few other things I did differently:

His nose is half of a large oval and his teeth are from the five petal flower.  Also, I made the box deeper (5 1/2 scored at 1 1/2 on both ends x 8 1/2 scored at 3 1/2 on both ends).

Supplies used:  Almost Amethyst and Basic Black CS, OCL Spooky Tags and SU  Fang-tastic Stamp Sets.

Regina's Visit

Happy Friday!

Regina and I spent nine fun days together this year.  We went out to dinner two nights, made an all-day excursion, attended a stamp camp and a crop night, and managed seven days of all-day crafting!

We each made an amazing project that Regina found on-line.  I will be posting mine and the link sometime in the coming week.  In the meantime, here is Regina's fabulous version.

Last year Regina showed me how to make beautiful daisies and this year I showed her how to make a double slider card.

Here is a picture of the welcome gift Regina gave me:

They are pot holders/tea coasters!  The polka dot circles are coated for setting your mug on.  You know I have been making good use of the purple one!

Here is a picture of us at dinner on the last night of our visit:

After dinner, Regina gave me a package and said not to open it until my birthday.

So, what was in this package?

So purple-licious!

This box is breathtakingly gorgeous!  Regina did an amazing job of embellishing it!

Inside is a mini cake, candle, and box of matches!

I can hardly believe that tonight will be three weeks since our goodbye (until next year) dinner.  I look forward to next year's get-together!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish everyone a very crafty weekend!

The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop - Week 3

Happy Monday!

Welcome to week 3 of The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop!

This week I created an Easel Treat Box:

Every year we have a family dinner the Friday before Halloween at a restaurant that totally decorates from floor to ceiling.  The photo is of a family friend, Mel, which was taken at last year's dinner.  Mel is 'part of the family.'  btw, he's the one on the right!  This is Mel's Halloween treat for this year.  I give everyone their Halloween treats at the end of the dinner.

Supplies used:  Basic Gray and Old Olive CS, Cast-a-Spell DSP, MS Border Punch, and Spellbinders Bats and Graveyard Dies.

I made little boxes (2 1/2 x 2 1/4, scored at 3/4 all around) for the tombstones that hold one Hershey Nugget each.  The treat box holds four.

The Shabby Tea Room #127 - 'For the Love of Books'

Happy Saturday!

Today I have an easel card I created for this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge which is to use cream, aqua, pink, and newsprint.

I started this card earlier in the week, but got sidetracked and put it aside.  Yesterday I received an invitation to a friend's 40th birthday party so I finished the card today as I think it will be perfect for her.

Supplies used:  Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla CS, free digi vintage newsprint (I faded it 30% before printing), Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink, Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval Dies, MME Velvet and Recollections Crochet Ribbons, Prima Flower, ZVA Bling, and CTMH Find Your Style (thanks Regina for letting me use it!) and SU Well Scripted stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCL #130 - What Floats Your Boat!

Happy Friday!

Where did this week go?

The title of this week's OCL challenge is 'What Floats Your Boat!' and the challenge is to create a card or project using a boat or something that floats.  I used OCL's Life's a Beach and SU's Tropical Party stamp sets to create a tag.

The EKSuccess border, surf board, and sentiment (created in Word) are attached with pop dots.

Thanks for floating by!

The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop - Week 2

Happy Saturday!

I recently discovered The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop.  What a great idea Terry had to start this--13 weeks of Halloween fun!

I created a little treat box for week 2:

The directions for the box can be found here.  Although the posting is in German, the measurements are in inches rather than centimeters, so it is very easy to follow.  The box is so cute and quick to create--I know I will be making more!

Supplies used:  Basic Black & Pumpkin Pie CS, Cast-a-Spell DSP, MS & SU Punches, and SU Wicked Cool Stamp Set.

I hope you play along and add your Halloween card or project.  You have until Tuesday @ 1:00 (PST).

Happy hopping!
