IBSIC #43 - Easter Basket

Happy Monday,

Today's project is for this week's Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge, which is a photo/color challenge:

I soon as I saw the colors, I thought of Easter.  So, I created a little Easter basket as a table decor.

Here is the front of the basket:

Back:

Side:

I am running low on So Saffron CS, so I used White CS for the basket base.  As you can probably see from the pictures, I cut the CS a tad too big.  If I hadn't been off on my measurement, or if I had used So Saffron CS, there wouldn't be that annoying white showing on the sides.

The correct measurement for the basket base (to use the largest of the Fancy Labels Dies 1 for layering) should be 7 5/8 x 7 5/8, scored at 2 all around.

I used the IBS Silhouette Cut Files (for the Easter Stamp set) for the eggs and large bunny.

Supplies used:  Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, So Saffron, and White CS, Regal Rose Ink, IBS Fancy Labels Dies 1, Marianne Creatables Rose Dies, Sizzix Beautiful Wings Embosslit and Swirls Sizzlet, MS & SU Punches, Pearls and Rhinestones, IBS Easter and Just Because Stamp Sets.

Oh What a Night!

Happy Tuesday!

Oh what a night!  Saturday night I attended the very first SU Saleabration Customer Event.  It was held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

First (and most exciting) I got to meet two of my long-time blogging friends!

Here I am with Ann Schach (the Stampin' Schach):

Ann lives in Iowa and is the Queen of Vintage and Pearls.  She left a dinner early so she could return to the Convention Center for us to meet!  I got to see a short video of Ann's Boxers (The Twins, Brody and Muffy, and their little sister, Lexi).  Ann had a very early flight home Sunday so she did not stay for the evening event.  Thank you Ann for going out of your way to say hello.

Here I am with Kim Bolzenthal (Stitchin' and Stampin' on Paper):

Kim is from Wisconsin and we sat together at the evening event.  She introduced me to two of her SU friends (Carolee and Lisa) that attended Leadership with her.  Kim gave me a beautiful vintage tag, pretty emboss resist card, and SU shopping bag.  Thank you Kim for the gifts and for making me feel so comfortable at the event.

Here is Shelli opening the evening:

The presentations and demonstrations were fun and interesting.  I can now say I got to see Shelli stamp!

Now, what would a SU event be without Prize Patrol?!?!?  Yes, I won the last Prize Patrol of the night, which was, appropriately, Ciao, Baby!

There were display boards in the lobby with lots of samples that demonstrators made.  There were also display boards showcasing all the new products in the Mini Catalog.  As there were a lot of people looking at the displays, it was not easy to take pictures.  I did have to snap a shot of the adorable Dress Framelits:

Also, a big thanks to Wolfgang for going to Orlando with me.  The noise and excitement of hundreds of (mostly) women were too much for him.  He spent the evening in the lobby with another lost husband.

IBSIC #41 - Guest Designer

Happy Wednesday!

I am super excited to be a Guest Designer for this week's Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #41.  I earned this honor when I created this card for Challenge #35.

This week's challenge is a photo inspiration and color challenge:

I love to make mini albums and this beautiful, romantic photo called out to me to make a vintage'y' album!

The lovely sentiment is from the Inspired by Stamping Small Fancy Labels 18 stamp set

I used a cereal box to cut the album pages (gotta love recycling!), covered them with the pretty patterned paper, and sponged the edges.

Supplies used:  MME Lost & Found Blush PP, Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, Spellbinders Labels Ten Dies, Recollections Pearl Swirls, IBS Products - Small Fancy Labels 18 Stamp Set, Cream Crochet Lace, Rose Seam Binding, and Mixed Color Small Flowers.

I hope this beautiful inspiration photo (and my project!) inspire you to play along this week in Challenge #41.  Please note that IBS products are not required to participate.

Thanks for stopping by!

IBSIC #40 - Quadruple Easel Card

Happy Saturday!

Today's card is for this week's Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge, which is a photo inspiration and color challenge.

This card is also for my friend Lucy's birthday.  Blue is her favorite color and purple is mine, so the combination is perfect for a special friend.  I decided to make a quadruple easel card as Lucy is always so happy and excited by the cards I make her.

Here is the IBSIC photo:

Here is the picture of the card closed (at least as closed as a quadruple easel card can be!):

And, of the inside:

Pictures of each easel opened:

Supplies used:  Bashful Blue, Lovely Lilac, Sage Shadow, and White CS, Bashful Blue and Lovely Lilac DSP, Bashful Blue, Lovely Lilac, and Marina Mist Inks, EKSuccess, MS, and SU Punches, Marianne Creatables Roses Dies, Sizzix Daisy Die and Beautiful Wings and Sweetest Stem Embosslits, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and Nested Tea Cups Dies, Brads, Pearls, and Rhinestones, CTMH Find Your Style, HC China Fragments, IBS Small Fancy Labels 18, and OCL Giving Thanks and Tea Time Stamp Sets.

Video Tutorial - Converting PDF Files to Silhouette Cut Files

Happy Wednesday and Happy New Year!

As I previously mentioned, I got a Silhouette Portrait for Christmas.  I mainly wanted the cutting machine for templates, though I did not get the upgraded Designer Software for it, which allows you to cut SVG files.  I searched for tutorials on converting PDF files to Silhouette Cut files, but was completely lost watching them.  Between receiving a defective blade and not understanding how to cut templates, all I wanted to do was send the machine back.

Wolfgang to the rescue!  He researched and showed me what to do to cut templates.  He even starting converting my templates for me and made a video so it would be easy to understand.

Please click here for the link to Wolfgang's video tutorial on converting PDF files to Silhouette Cut files.

I hope this video will be helpful to anyone who has a Silhouette machine and did not purchase the Designer Software.

The link for the tutorial will also remain on the top of my left sidebar.
