IBS Release Week Day Three - Festive Greetings

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to Day Three of Release Week at Inspired by Stamping! Today's stamp set is Festive Greetings. This is a 19-piece stamp set that includes Christmas sentiments and images.

Let's get right to my card:

I had so much fun stamping the Christmas light bulbs. They 'take me back' to when I was a kid and we decorated the front of the house with the large light bulb strands. Do they even exist any more? OK, enough reminiscing.

I stamped the bulbs, from the Festive Greetings stamp set, and die-cut them with the smallest of the Fancy Label Dies 2. The matting layers were cut with the second smallest die. The sentiment was die-cut with the banner die from Fancy Label Dies 3. After assembling the card, I thought the sentiment should of been stamped in black rather than red. What do you think?

Here is the inside:

I kept it simple by stamping the light stand and one bulb. The Festive Greetings stamp set includes two options for the bulb-a single outline image that can be colored and a solid bulb plus a separate socket.

Now it is time for you to celebrate Release Week and visit the Inspired by Stamping Blog. Each day this week a new stamp set will be revealed. What is Release Week without Blog Candy?!?!? Joanna is generously giving away a $25 gift certificate to the Inspired by Stamping On-Line Store each day, Monday through Thursday, and a $50 gift certificate on Friday! You may comment on the Inspired by Stamping Blog and/or any of the Designers' Blogs to be eligible. Each winner will be announced the following day on the Winner's Page.

The entire September Release will be available for purchase in the Inspired by Stamping On-Line Store on Friday. You will definitely want to add the fun Festive Greetings stamp set to your shopping cart!

Thanks for stopping by!

IBS September Release Week

Happy Monday!

Welcome to Inspired by Stamping's September Release Week! Unfortunately, my new stamps have not arrived yet. So, I do not have a card featuring today's stamp set, Big Sympathy, which is the new FREE stamp set of the month (with a $50 purchase).

I do have a card to 'Celebrate' Release Week:

The champagne glasses, from the Wine Lovers stamp set (July Release), were stamped in black and the 'champagne' in pale yellow. I stamped a few stars, from the Teeny Tiny Greetings stamp set, around the glasses and added sequins for the shaker. The Celebrate sentiment is from the Just Because stamp set.

More about BCRF

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) advances the world's most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. Founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993, BCRF has raised more than $550 million to fuel discoveries in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, survivorship and metastasis, making it one of the largest non-governmental funders of breast cancer research in the world. This year, BCRF has invested $58.6 million in research, to support over 235 researchers at leading medical institutions across six continents, including $11.6 million to the international Evelyn H. Lauder Founder's Fund focused on metastasis. By spending 91 cents of every dollar on research and public awareness programs, BCRF remains one of the nation's most fiscally responsible nonprofits. BCRF is the only breast cancer organization with an "A+" from CharityWatch, and has been awarded Charity Navigator's highest rating of four stars 13 times since 2002. Floating Butterfly September Thank Yous

Happy Monday!

Today's cards feature the floating butterfly technique and they are my thank you cards for September Stampin' Up! on-line orders!

Here is a closer look at one of the cards:

I used one of the butterfly stamps, from Papillon Potpourri, and stamped a 'rainbow' of butterflies. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

Here is the inside:

The inside Whisper White piece measures 4 x 9 3/4, and was scored at 1, 2 3/4, and 4 1/2. I used a Circle Framelit and 1/2 strip of Window Sheet to mount the floating butterfly. I die-cut two butterflies and glued them together for the back, then added one to the front with a stamped butterfly, from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

The Butterflies Thinlits are on special this week (ends tonight at midnight)!

IBSIC 98

Happy Sunday!

Welcome to my Inspired by Stamping Sunday IBSIC Feature.

My card today is for IBSIC 98On the 15th of each month, a new IBSIC is posted. You may follow the Color, Sketch, and/or Theme. One randomly chosen participant will receive a $25 GC to the Inspired by Stamping Store!

Here are the inspirations for IBSIC 98:

My card is based on the Sketch:

I started by stamping the three large leaves, from the Happy Fall stamp set, then I masked them and stamped the script image, from the Ahoy, Matey! stamp set. Next, I stamped the small leaves and distressed the edges of all the layers. I finished off the front of the card with the ticket, from the Autumn Blessings stamp set, which I popped up, and some twine.

Now for a look at the inside:

The Happy Fall stamp set was used for the inside of the card as well.

The link to enter IBSIC 98 is open until 10:00 AM ET on October 13 (11:59 PM Brisbane time on October 14). Inspired by Stamping products are not required to enter, but if you do use them your entry will be counted twice! I look forward to see what inspires you.

Simple Embossing with IBS Flower of the Month: Poppies

Happy Friday!

For my Inspired by Stamping post today, I am sharing an easy-to-emboss card using the gorgeous new Flower of the Month: Poppies stamp set.

Have you ever been intimidated by images that need to be colored? Today’s card shows you how to create a simple, yet striking, card without coloring.

Let’s take a look:

Using black ink, I stamped the single Poppy image, from the FOTM: Poppies stamp set, in the center of the angled piece of red card stock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, I used a mask and stamped the image on either side of the center flower. For a bit more dimension, I stamped and fussy-cut another poppy, then adhered it in the center with pop dots.

Here is a close-up of the sentiment:

The embossed sentiment really is quite striking on the white background. Nice and shiny IRL too!

Now for a look at the inside:

Again, for the inside, I embossed the image and sentiment, then added a scrap of the patterned paper that I used on the front of the card.

What do you think of today’s card? I will enjoy reading your comments!

I am linking today's card to the Mod Squad Challenge Blog - 'Focal Flower' - use a stamped or die-cut flower as the focal point on your card.

Thanks for stopping by!
