Last Day for 2015-2016 Annual Catalog and 2016 Occasions Catalog

Happy Tuesday!

Today is the last day to order from the Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog and the 2016 Occasions Catalog!

Don't miss out on getting your retiring favorites. Place an on-line order before 11:00 PM MT tonight using Hostess Code 74ESX2PA and receive a package of Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (page 161 AC) as a thank you gift. If your order is $150 or more, do not use the hostess code (you will still receive a thank you gift!). Your thank you gift will be sent to you in June along with your thank you card. Please note, as May's thank you gift is a retiring item, if the stock is depleted, I will substitute with a surprise item.

How excited are you about the new catalog?!?!? If you would like to place an on-line order bright and early tomorrow, May's Hostess Code will be active throughout the day. June's thank you gift will be a package of the new Delicate White Doilies (pg. 175 AC).

Thanks for stopping by!

April Thank You Cards - Drapery Fold

Happy Saturday!

Today's card is what my customers received as a thank you for placing an on-line order during the month of April.

So, let's take a look:

I made two color versions--Blushing Bride and Pool Party. A few of the products used for these cards will be retiring on Tuesday--Birthday Bouquet DSP (a favorite of mine!), Cotton Ribbon, Candy Dots, and Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

For the drapery fold technique, I followed a tutorial by Lisa Reber (sorry I can't link to it as it was posted in a SU demo-only site). But, here are the directions:

DSP 3 1/2 x 9 (will make two cards)
Score at 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 4, 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 6, 7, and 7 1/2
With the right side of the DSP facing up, make a pencil mark 1/2 inch up from the bottom left corner and another mark 1/2 inch down from the top right corner
Line up both marks on your paper trimmer and cut diagonally (this will give you two pieces for two cards)
Pleat on the score lines and secure with Tear and Tape

Here's a look at the insides and coordinating envelopes:

I'll say it again, I am so happy Picture Perfect is carrying over to the new Annual Catalog. For the roses, I used Blushing Bride/Watermelon Wonder and Pool Party/Mint Macaron.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supply List:  Blushing Bride, Pool Party, and Whisper White CS, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Pool Party, and Watermelon Wonder Ink, Blushing Bride and Pool Party Cotton Ribbon, Subtles Candy Dots, Corner Rounder and Curvy Corner Trio Punch, and Butterfly Basics and Picture Perfect Stamp Sets

March Thank You Cards - Clipboard

Happy Wednesday!

Today's card is what my customers received as a thank you for placing an on-line order during the month of March.

Here is March's masterpiece:

I used the Bloomin' Love and Picture Perfect stamp sets, both of which will carry over to the new Annual Catalog!

Isn't that little clipboard just the cutest?!?!? The 'clipboard' measures 2 1/4 by 2 1/2. After rounding the edges of the Crumb Cake CS, they were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink. The 'speckles' is a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge (a must-have stamp set!). The strips of Silver Foil Sheet measure 1 1/4 wide and I scored the bottom 1/4.

Here is the inside:

To create this card, I started with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Blushing Bride CS, scored at 5 1/2. I glued a piece of Whisper White CS (a hair shy of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2) to the inside and used the File Tabs Edgelit (retiring next week) to cut the top to resemble a folder. Once you run the card through your BigShot, you will need to take your scissors and snip the corner (at the fold) and you will also need to use your paper trimmer to cut the front of the card to the height of the inside, then round the two corners.

Once I was finished making my customers' thank you cards, I decided to make an alternate color version for my blog friend Ann's birthday:

It is the same exact card, but done in Crumb Cake.

Here is the inside:

Finally, a look at the two versions side-by-side:

Thanks for stopping by!

IBS CAS Flamingo Fun

Happy Monday!

For my Inspired by Stamping post today, I have a clean and simple card using two new stamp sets; Flamingos and You Are, which is free with a $50 purchase!

So, let’s take a look at my fun CAS card:

I started by randomly stamping the Flamingo image in grey ink. The pink Flamingo was fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals. Keeping with the flamingo/pigeon color theme, I stamped the sentiment in pink and grey. As soon as I received this stamp set and saw that fun sentiment, I envisioned this card.

 Now for the inside:

There are many build-a-sentiment possibilities with the You Are stamp set. I felt that fabulous went well with the sentiment from the front of the card. I will be sending this card to a friend who needs a little ‘lift’ right now.

That's all for me today...thanks for stopping by!

IBS Split Scene

Happy Monday!

For my Inspired by Stamping post today, I am sharing a card using the new release Plumerias stamp set along with the Tropical Paradise stamp set.

Let’s take a look at my fun technique card:

I wanted to try a ‘split scene’ for awhile now and thought this image from Tropical Paradise would be perfect for it. This card gives me the feeling of looking through a paned window.

I started by stamping the island image and sea gulls with black hybrid ink on a 3 x 4 piece of mixed media paper. Distress Inks were used for water coloring. Once this was dry, I cut it lengthwise into 1 inch strips and matted them onto 1¼ x 4¼ strips of black card stock. They are a perfect fit for a 4¼ x 5½ card.

The big, bold Paradise, from the Plumerias stamp set, and some baker’s twine finish the front of the card.

Of course, a tropical scene needed to be on the inside as well:

After stamping the images and sentiment, I did a light water coloring around the edges. The images from Tropical Paradise and sentiments from Plumerias coordinate so well.

Plumerias and the entire April Release stamp sets and cut files are available for your shopping pleasure in the Inspired by Stamping On-line Shop!
