Welcome my Inspired by Stamping friends. I am excited to be in the Saturday Designer Spotlight today!
I have made a center step card using the Tropical Paradise and Summer Fun stamp sets. I apologize in advance to my Northern Hemisphere visitors who are going to want to escape the cold and take a tropical vacation after seeing today's card!
I started by stamping the scene image from Tropical Paradise on a piece of smooth, white card stock, 3 1/2 x 4 1/2, and putting a circle mask in the top left for the sun. I began sponging from the bottom up, using blues, browns, yellows, oranges, and purples. Once the sponging was completed, I stamped the sun and seagulls, both are part of the Tropical Paradise stamp set, and sponged the sun with two yellows.
The sentiments, from Summer Fun, were stamped directly on the patterned paper.
To create a center step card, start with a piece of card stock, 5 1/2 x 11. Place the card stock in your paper cutter (5 1/2 side should be at the top) at the one inch mark, and cut down from one inch to 6 1/2. Turn your paper over and repeat. Turn your paper the other way (11 inch side along the top) and score at 1, 2, and 6 1/2, only to the cut line. Turn paper over and repeat. Lastly, score at 5 1/2 between cut lines. May sound a little confusing, but it is easy.
Here you can see how the center step card gets folded:
I hope you enjoyed today's card. I am happy to answer any questions.
Thanks for stopping by!
